Huli huli chicken recipe

I got this grilled chicken recipe from a friend while living in Hawaii. It sizzles with the flavors of brown sugar, ginger and soy huli huli chicken recipe. This sweet and savory glaze is fantastic on pork chops, too.

Divide remaining marinade between 2 large shallow dishes. Refrigerate, covered, for 8 hours or overnight. Huli means to turn or reverse. Huli Huli Chicken is an appropriate name for the recipe, as it traditionally is turned several times during roasting. Pair this Hawaiian chicken recipe with one of our other favorite Hawaiian recipes. A pineapple marinade with plenty of fresh ginger and garlic injects sweet-savoury flavour and makes for an excellent glaze. Brilliant BBQ grilled or pan seared.

There’s just no chance that you cook this without doing a little hula dance. It’s the satisfying dripping, shiny glaze, the caramelised edges, the anticipation of the smiles and sheer happiness on the faces of those fortunate enough to eat this. Hawaiian, and refers to the traditional method of cooking this with a grilling basket, turning it over hot coals. Tip: use the juice from canned pineapple slices, and use the pineapple for garnish, as pictured!
